Guild Supported Charities

Ryan’s Case for Smiles- Elaine Wilkerson gave examples of the impact our donations have on the children. They bring smiles, reduce stress and brighten lives. We donated 119 pillowcases this past guild year which is down from prior years at 300-400.

The Nest- JoAnn Cicero advised us that they appreciate all the items we donate and we can bring items anytime. The Yulee facility has a new building, and the Jacksonville facility is in the Picketville area.

The Pinky Promise Foundation- Glenda Stonecipher explained that they help any woman going through a cancer diagnosis. They distribute gas cards, treats, games, lap quilts, wigs, seatbelt pillows, etc. Glenda asked for donations of 80/20 cotton batting in twin size to be used by our longarmers for the lap quilts we donate.

Quilts Of Valor- Sue Deyo went over the requirements for all QOV quilts to be presented. An information sheet was supplied to members giving minimum and maximum sizes as well as other pertinent information. Sue requested all quilts be 60”x80”. Feedback received from longarmers providing quilting request all quilts be ironed and the backing cut to size. (Check with your longarmer for exact overage they need). We have presented 69 Quilt of Valor quilts to date.

2027 Retreat

The cost for the retreat will be $325.00, and will be at Crooked River State Park in St Mary’s, GA. Each retreater will need to provide all their meals except for Tuesday night when dinner will be provided. Please bring a name tag as none will be provided. We will play LRC and are asked to bring three polka dot fabrics. We will have the sewing room all day on Saturday so stay as long as you like. Sue will determine a daily cost for those who want to commute a day or two. The cost of a parking pass is not included in the retreat fee.

New Business
