Chairman Report by Mary Ann – A couple education opportunities are coming up.  One is the ‘Storm at Sea’ quilt.  Mary Ann showed the meeting a Storm at Sea quilt top and explained two rulers that would be used to make this quilt top.  Bea Mehl has the rulers, with instructional videos, on her website.  A Storm at Sea class will be starting after the first of the year.

Chris Sandstrom talked about the Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt for 2017 – This year’s quilt is named On Ringo Lake.  Go to Quiltville.com, click on Bonnie’s blog where you will find a tab for the On Ringo Lake Mystery Quilt.  Print out the clues, which will start coming out after Thanksgiving.  The reveal is New Year’s, but don’t print out the reveal.  A class will start in January for anyone interested in making the mystery quilt.  Dates will be on the calendar. Sandy Arcari showed a Mystery Quilt she made.

Chris asked for more members to come to Pioneer Days at Okefenokee.  She talked about how much fun was had at Heritage Days at Conner’s Amazing Acres and how appreciative the Conner’s were when they realized the quilt we were quilting was going to be given to them.

Chris mentioned the need for crafters and workers for the Santa’s Secret Shop.  Spouses are welcome to help at the sale.

Shop Hop information was available.

Chris is working on retreat plans.

Mary Ann went over the proceeds from Santa’s Workshop.  15% went to school last year.  An idea was brought up to donate 7.5% to school and 7.5% to be paid out of budget.  A motion was made for discussion.  A motion was made to give 15% to the school with 7.5% coming from crafter and 7.5% coming from budget $.  After discussion, a vote was taken by a show of hands with 10 in favor and 14 opposed.

New Programs Report by Sue Deyo – In December we’re doing a covered dish meeting and something fun with a yard of batik fabric that could be your Christmas Gift, Gift Exchange and Challenge for another year.

Charity Report by Mary Ann – Sherry delivered the VA quilt to Lake City.  Sherry reported on her trip to deliver quilt.  It was well received.

Mary Ann reported on her visit to The Nest.  She was told The Nest would love to have some handmade items.

New Business – Mary Ann brought up the concern with people having trouble hearing in the guild meetings.  There was discussion about purchasing a PA system for guild use.  A motion was made that a PA system was needed.  Motion was seconded.  A vote was taken and passed to look for a PA system.

Sue Deyo presented a very interesting program on memory quilts.  Many guild members shared the memory quilts they had made.

Members showed their show and tell items.

Door prizes were awarded.  The first 50/50 raffle was drawn.  The raffle brought in $88, ½ of which was given to the winner, Gail Bowen, and ½ went to the guild.
