Country Star Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes

Call to Order
President Lori Frederick called the meeting to order at 6:25 pm
Welcome
Lori welcomed everyone and reminded us we will not meet in the months of July and August.
Nadine Lloyd led in prayer, and we enjoyed a wonderful, covered dish dinner provided by our guild members, with fried chicken provided by the guild.
Announcement
* Sit N Sew is June 13th and 27th . July & August Sit N Sews will be 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month.  Our next meeting is Sept 8th
* Lori handed out a survey to be completed and turned in tonight to help with future programs and classes.
Quilt of Valor: Service was held on June 3rd . We had the privilege to honor 4 veterans. Thank you to Sue Deyo for putting this together.
Summer challenge: Please help our QOV group out by making a quilt. Sue & Lori have fabric if you are interested in helping
Block of the Whatever
We have several who have stuck it out and are putting the final touches on them.
Prizes: Karen Hurst, Anne Hines and Sue Deyo
Guild supported Charities:
Please don’t forget our charities. We can get items to them anytime. Pinky Promise-The Nest- Ryan’s case for Smiles
Lori has pillowcase kits available and just a few more to cut.
June – August Birthdays

Our June birthdays are: Bea Mehl, Ramona Lee, Daphne Hester, Dell Dunman, Barb
Wagner, Sabrina Faircloth, Kathy Waldron and Linda Greene.
Our July birthdays are: Bonnie Cressey, Mary Sperow, Barbara Jackson, Michelle
Ajdinovich, Barb Lovett and Bonnie Eisenhower.
Our August Birthdays are: Helen Henderson, Nadine Lloyd, Elaine Wilkerson, Kaye
Mulliniks and Marsa Detscher.

Meeting Program- Sara Aicher
Quiltfest registration due by July 25th for those wishing to put a quilt in the show. Quilts are to be delivered Sept 6th .
Sara presented the program “Quilter’s Last Will and Testament”
She also passed out copies of guidelines to help each of us in the disbursement of our sewing treasures.
Sara presented a summer project. Each person received an envelope with instructions and a guild members name. We were tasked with making a quilted postcard to send to that person. Sara had several examples and advised Pinterest and YouTube to be good resources.
Left-Right-Center
Each member was asked to bring 1 dainty floral fat quarter. Theresa Elliott was the
winner of all the lovely fat quarters. Congratulations!
Door prizes were given out and we had Show and Tell.
Lori adjourned the meeting and wished everyone a good summer. “See you in
September”
