Country Star Quilt Guild Meeting Minutes

Call to Order

President Lori Frederick called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm.

 

Welcome

Lori welcomed our guests to the meeting, Sabrina Faircloth, Amy Johnson, and Dawn Burns. Amy and Dawn are from Tilted Quilters. We also have Barbara Wagner visiting from Michigan, and Darlene Cole is back.

 

Announcements

• The Shop Hop is Saturday 1/18/2025 thru 1/25/2025.
• Our next sit-N-sew will be January 24th
• Our next meeting is February 10th. Our Show N Tell will be 2 color quilts.
• Our retreat is February 25th thru March 1st. For the game “Left Right Center” bring (3) fat quarters that are Red/White/Blue. We will decorate our doors in a sewing theme, if you would like to participate.
• The Quilt of Valor – Lori has fabric available for these. We have (1) quilt on the shelf.
• Block of Whatever – We have (50) blocks done. The blocks for this month are #43, #27, #52, #22.
• Pillowcases – We received a thank you card from Seamark Ranch. Lori has kits available.

Charlotte Taylor led us in our devotion and prayer.

 

Programs – Sara Aicher

• At our next Sit N Sew bring any quilts you have acquired for assistance in repairing them.
• We are still collecting hearts for Pinky Promise.
• For our next meeting, bring any unusual sewing tools you may have.
• We have buttons available for you to take and make items to show at upcoming meetings.

Meeting Program

Marsa Detscher first gave a presentation about the history of Long Arm Quilting and the machines they used (then and now). We had a panel made up of Marsa Detscher, Dell Dunman, Bonnie Eisenhower, and Amy Johnson. Bonnie Cressey was the moderator to present questions.

Birthdays

Our November birthdays are Tracey Calhoun, Lori Frederick, Ginny Ackerman.

Our December birthdays are Barbara Perkins, Eileen VanFossen, Ellie Boette.

Our January birthdays are Sharon Propper, Anne Hines, Lynette Talek, Carol Ring.

 

Door prizes were given out, and we had Show & Tell.
