My Favorite Season – Country Star Guild Challenge
This guild challenge is an exciting opportunity for every guild member. It will allow you to use your skills, creativity and fabric stash in ways that will be uniquely you. Everyone is requested to follow the few challenge rules, abide by the final due date and keep your final quilt a secret until the big reveal.
Here are the rules of the challenge:
- The theme of this challenge is: My Favorite Season
- Your finished quilt must be 30” to 40” wide and 30” to 50” long.
- It must be quilted by machine or hand, but cannot be tied, and must be bound. It should have a hanging pocket at the top edge. If you do not know how to add a pocket to your quilt, just ask and we will help you and give you instructions.
- A name plate containing maker’s name, title of the quilt and year made should be attached to the bottom back corner of the quilt. A piece of opaque cloth should be pinned over it so it cannot be seen.
You can use any technique in constructing this quilt – piecing, paper piecing, applique of any type, etc. You can mix and match techniques and add embellishments as long as the quilt can still be rolled and folded. Please do not add any embellishment that needs batteries/electricity to operate.
You can use any fabrics of your choice – cottons, silks, linens, man-made fabrics, leathers, furs, etc.
Your quilt should show your creativity. You may use traditional blocks and/or appliques, but pleased do not use another designer’s total quilt.
Important dates: September 8, 2025 start; November 10, 2025 register for challenge; February 25-March 2, 2026 turn in quilts to collection points; March 9, 2026 reveal and fun at guild meeting.
